Election Information
The City of Owens Cross Roads elects the following positions at each 4-year election term:
- Mayor
- Council Members – currently 5 at-large members
The Alabama League of Municipalities has published “Duties of the Mayor and Council” to help understand the distinct roles and separation of duties.
Owens Cross Roads last election was held in 2020. In 2021, the Alabama State Legislature voted to move municipal elections off the same calendar year as presidential elections. Officials elected in 2020 will serve until 2025. Municipal elections will be held on August 26, 2025.
The City Clerk’s office is responsible for overseeing the election process.

Forms must be sent in to the County in which you live or to the Secretary of State’s Office. See form for address.
Your County Board of Registrars will mail you a voter identification card upon determining that you are eligible to vote in your county. The voter identification card will provide the name and address of your polling locations, including the location for the municipal election.
