The City of Owens Cross Roads, not Madison County, will now be picking up the BULK TRASH from residents within the corporate city limits. Pickup dates will typically begin the week of the 15th as weather permits. Regular household trash pickup remains the same. Regular household garbage/waste must be disposed of in the green garbage can.
Please sort yard debris/limbs, etc. from any other bulk trash.
Pickup includes boxes (must be broken down), furniture, and household items. Yard waste such as grass, leaves, hedge or shrubbery clippings, must be placed in bags and cannot weigh more than 50 pounds. Tree limbs cannot exceed 8 feet in length. The amount of debris we will pick up at each house per month should fit into a standard pickup truck bed. If your debris exceeds this amount, please call 256-725-5168 for SPECIAL SERVICE. The minimum fee for SPECIAL SERVICE is $50 and will depend on manpower, equipment, and disposal fees.
Please place large debris in front of your home at curbside or the edge of the roadway. Do not place any debris in the road, gutter, on top of storm drains, on sidewalks, next to mailboxes, or next to utility lines/poles/boxes or in any area that would impede the flow of surface water or be an obstruction to traffic or pedestrians.
Anyone other than the resident/homeowner, who has received compensation for work done, is responsible for the removal of debris. Debris from professionally hired workers and construction debris will NOT be picked up.
NO TVs with picture tubes, computers, concrete, rock, dirt, brick, glass, shingles, insulation, or treated wood, will be picked up. NO household appliances.
NO paint, pesticides, pool chemicals, batteries, tires, any type of solvent, acids, or automotive fluids will be picked up.
