Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule your court date, the court may approve your request if you provide appropriate written documentation before the scheduled court day. Acceptable documentation includes: Doctor’s Excuse Letter of Incarceration Letter of Admittance to a Rehabilitation Facility Military Leave Jury Duty Notice To request a reschedule, submit the relevant documentation to the court as soon as possible. Accident Reports & Release of Vehicle Impounds
For copies of accident reports or release of impounded vehicles, please contact the Owens Cross Roads Police Chief at 256-725-5167. Accident reports are $15.00 (CASH, CREDIT, DEBIT ONLY) Requirements for Releasing an Impounded Vehicle: To release an impounded vehicle, you must provide the following items: Owner’s Driver’s License/Picture ID Vehicle Registration Proof of Current Insurance Payment of $25.00 (CASH, CREDIT, DEBIT ONLY) For additional information or assistance, please contact the Owens Cross Roads Police Department.
Owens Cross Roads Municipal Court
The Municipal Court of Owens Cross Roads exercises jurisdiction over all prosecutions for violations of traffic & non traffic offenses, municipal ordinances, and state misdemeanors adopted by our Code of Ordinances. Court is held in the Court Room located at 9032 Highway 431 S in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Payment
Methods of Payment: Mail:Acceptable forms: Money order or cashier’s check.Ensure payment is received at least 24 hours prior to the court date listed on your ticket. In-Person:Traffic tickets or non-traffic cases listed on the fines schedule can be paid at City Hall by the person who received the citation.Acceptable forms: Cash, check, money order, debit/credit cards.Note: Debit/credit card payments will incur a 3.5% service fee (minimum of $2), charged by a third-party company. The City of Owens Cross Roads does not receive any revenue from this fee. Court Date and Fine Amount Inquiries: If you are unsure about your court date or the amount of your fine, please call (256) 725-5165 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Consequences of Non-Payment or Non-Appearance: Failure to pay before your court date or to appear in court will result in: A warrant for your arrest. Suspension of your driver’s license. Pleading Guilty: Certain charges listed on the back of all citations may be paid in person to the court clerk/magistrate without appearing in court. Traffic Safety Education Program: “Defensive Driving School” and “Alive at 25” A traffic safety educational program has been established under the supervision of the Court Clerk, following guidelines set by the Municipal Court Judge. Each person attending the seminar shall be charged a registration fee not exceeding one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00). Fees are assessed by the Municipal Court Judge, unless waived by the Judge or the Court Clerk for individuals referred by an outside agency. If a defendant needs to reschedule or cancel their attendance, a penalty of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) shall be charged in addition to the registration fees. Attendees must be in the classroom on time. Doors are locked at the beginning of class and no late entry is allowed. Brandy N. Wilson

Brandy N. Wilson is a dedicated public servant and lifelong resident of Madison County, with deep ties to the Owens Cross Roads community where she has lived for most of her life. A graduate of New Hope High School in 1992, Brandy pursued higher education at J. F. Drake State Community & Technical College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate Degree in Accounting. Brandy began her career with the City of Owens Cross Roads in April 2017, initially working in the sewer billing department and providing assistance with the court. Her commitment and skill were recognized with a promotion in October 2019 to the position of Court Clerk/Magistrate, a role in which she continues to serve with dedication. In her personal life, Brandy is married and is a mother to two children and six bonus children. She values the opportunity to serve her home community, finding it both a privilege and a responsibility. Her career and life reflect her strong connection to Owens Cross Roads and her commitment to contributing positively to the community she calls home.
